Design Technique
I specialize in Modern and Japanese Influenced Designs
I use concepts like “outdoor rooms”, framing, flow, gesture and materiality, as examples of techniques I use to create spaces. I seek to create a product that is harmonious with its surroundings. I seek to create a “total” design that takes advantage of all necessary design inputs and adjoining areas to make a project stand out. I use the whole area of the project, to create an interesting, beautiful, spatially balanced, and engaging result. My work exists at the intersection between Architecture and Landscape Architecture, taking on influences from both.
Experience
I have a degree in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis, cum laude; and a Masters in Architecture from the University of Minnesota.

Project types I design include modern versions of classic project types. These include: Water Features, Hedges, Flower Gardens, Formal and Informal Garden and Lawn Designs. I also do Decks, Pergolas, Trellis’s, Gazebos, Fire Pits, Patios, High End Fences and Gates, Custom Walls, Stone Paths. I do Accessory Structures of all sorts including Pool Houses, Saunas, Tea Houses, Potting Sheds, Playhouses. And last but not least, I do Residential Architecture.
